This course aims to expose the student to the challenges of producing from the inception and sale of a project through pre-production, production, and post-production to ultimate distribution.
It will prepare the student to take on the business aspects of the television and film production industry. Today's film and television producers need more than just good ideas and a crew to get their projects off the ground. They need people with the skills to handle the financing, management, legal, distribution and business affairs.
That's what this course is all about. As potential entrepreneurial producers, the class will study techniques in leveraging limited amounts of time and capital into maximum results; while attempting to balance unbridled optimism against sensible business logic.
The course will emphasize the importance of an entrepreneurial spirit and a global outlook. The student will explore the industry's legal, financial and regulatory frameworks and develop skills necessary for producing in the current African and international market.
During the workshop, Students will learn typical producer functions such as when to use publicity, how to deal with creative egos, what to do if the marketing of your project is ill-advised and more.

At the end of the course, students will be able to understand the role and responsibilities of being an independent producer by establishing a way of judging the artistic merit and economic possibilities of a project at various stages from inception to completion.
They will be given a personal plan on how to approach the industry. Over the four weeks course, every student will have uniquely been tutored to appreciate and achieve their different goals for an active career as a producer or film production expert.
