Del-York Creative Academy’s Instructor for Broadcast Journalism, Alecia Reid Shares Career Highlight.

From the centre stage on monumental broadcast stories to the extensive breaking news that shook the world;  Alecia Reid, a 2-time Emmy nominee reveals a major highlight to her illustrious career as a journalist.

She has covered epic stories of major events such as President Barack Obama’s 2008 Inauguration from Washington D.C., but beyond her passion for breaking news, her opportunity to give a voice to people who want to tell their stories in the Spring of 2019 at Del-York Creative Academy in Lagos, Nigeria is probably a major highlight of her career – as mentioned by a recently published article in CBS Local, Philadelphia.

Del-York Creative Academy is the foremost capacity building institution in Africa for creative talents in film and media through a month-long intensive training program. In 2019, Alecia Reid was part of a host of international expert professionals who came to the popular African city of Lagos to share their craft with enthusiastic young African talents.

The captivating experience was captured in the media which has also earned Alecia Reid and her group a national recognition as the “Most Influential People of African Descent Class of 2019 in Media and Culture”; as she was a frontrunner in pushing a dynamic change in the continent’s creative landscape.

Alecia Reid is currently the online instructor for the DCA Broadcast Journalism and Media Communications course, set to begin in mid-October 2020. She hopes to return to Africa at the commencement of Del-York Creative Academy’s on-site classes in 2021.
