Wow!
It has been an action-packed session at Del-York Creative Academy.
The on-campus, creative arts training program that started on 10th October is winding up with a positively inspiring bang.
Inclusive of being enmeshed in the hands-on, intensive courses and having the forum of actualizing their creativity and displaying their talents, the trainees have been honored with the presence of some eminent personalities.
The exciting visitations at the academy have included that of Joseph Kruzich, Spokesperson of the United State Consulate and Ibrahim Aliyu, the Cultural Programs Lead. The trainees and instructors were privileged to have meaningful discussion with the guests on pertinent issues including the rise of storytellers in Africa, DCA’s role and commitment to cultivating African talent and the future of Africa’s Creative industry.
Also visiting was a prominent alumni of the academy – Deyemi Okanlawon. Speaking on his experience so far in the industry, the successful thespian took time to advice and motivate the trainees.
The academy has also been honored with the visit of Williams Uchemba and the very special presence of His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri who was accompanied by the CEO of DCA, Mr. Linus Idahosa. A trainee that was so impressed with the presence of His Majesty did a wonderful impromptu royal welcome chant to him. Highly impressed with the quality of creativity emanating from the institution, Olu Ogiame was of the view that Nigeria will soon become the capital of Black Hollywood.
An exciting recent event to encourage creativity and build confidence was the DCA Got Talent program. The successful outside-of-classwork event had the students displaying their talents to their peers and instructors.
Since its establishment in 2010, more than 3000 interns have undergone Del-York’s high-quality, innovative training and been imbued with the relevant skills to be pacesetters in the fast-evolving and expanding creative industry.
Now acknowledged as a leader in the creative arts, Del-York Creative Academy is indeed taking the African narrative to new and greater heights.
