The term burnout is a word commonly associated with an emotional and psychological feeling. It is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress.
Burnout occurs when one feels overwhelmed, emotionally drained and unable to meet constant demands. It is characterised by; exhaustion, cynicism otherwise known as less identification with your job and feelings of reduced professional ability.
