The President & CEO of the Del York International Group, Mr. Linus Idahosa is attending the ongoing U.S Africa Leaders’ Summit, a gathering of some of the world’s most influential political and economic leaders from across the United States and Africa.
The event, a gathering of Presidents from several African countries amongst others is being hosted by the US President Mr. Joe Biden and is seen as the foremost forum for deliberations between the United States of America and countries in Africa on many hot-button topics ranging from trade and commerce, infrastructure funding and development, entertainment and the creative industry, technology, and education to mention a few.
As a respected leader of thought from the African continent’s creative industry segment, Mr. Linus was invited to speak on a panel in one of the breakout sessions focused on the growth of the creative industry fittingly titled: Owning the Narrative- Film, Television, and Music- Engines for Culture, Economy, and Growth Environmental Equity. His engaging perspectives on the subject matter delivered greater insights into the plethora of untapped opportunities available throughout the African creative industry ecosystem as he legislated for the establishment of platforms to assist in the funding and capacity building of the industry.
Del York International Group is the promoter of one of the continent’s most ambitious projects for the creative industry; the ultramodern Lagos film city project in Lagos, Nigeria which is billed as a one-stop shop for moviemaking and a place to live, learn and thrive in an immersive creative industry environment. The project is being undertaken in partnership with the Lagos State Government and is billed to be completed in 2025.
